About the Lecture
One of the side effects of the dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway in the Indian River Lagoon was the creation of spoil islands, which are now recognized as a resource for both wildlife and people. Join Marc Virgilio from the Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserves for a presentation on the history of the spoil islands, recreational and ecological uses, enhancement efforts on the islands, and a call out for volunteers.
