Sat Dec 13  Ocean Discovery Center’s Holiday Open House. 10am – 1pm  A seasonal celebration of marine science. Holiday treats, music, and crafts for all ages. Visit the Ocean Discovery Center gift shop. Free event.

Tue Dec 16  Palm Beach’s Flagler Museum and Whitehall Mansion. 9am-5pm Travel aboard Academy Coach to Palm Beach and then lunch (on your own) at the Gardens Mall + time for shopping.  $45 members, $50 nonmembers. Thu Jan 8  Tour Save the Chimps Sanctuary. Meet at the Ocean Discovery Center 12:15pm - 4pm  For Friends of Harbor Branch only by special invitation.Please register early as space is limited. $60 charge includes transportation and exclusive, walking, guided tour by Jen Feuerstein, Sanctuary Director. Thu Jan 22  A Land Remembered with Patrick Smith, Jr. A multimedia show about the spirit and history of Florida presented by the son of the author of A Land Remembered. Admission includes a delicious, sustainable seafood paella plate, seated dining. Beer and sangria available for purchase. Silent auction of HBOI lab chairs upcycled by Art Mundo artists. Dinner 5-6:15pm. Presentation begins at 6:30pm. Tickets available in advance ONLY. $20 members, $30 non-members. Call (772) 242-2559. Ages 9 and up.

Tue Jan 27  Authentic Bahama Fish Fry and Boat Tour  with Capt. Chop and Little Jim Bait and Tackle Shop. Depart Ft. Pierce Marina at 3pm and return at 5:30pm. Boat to Little Jim Bait and Tackle where Chef Danny will prepare a fish fry of sustainable seafood complete with hush puppies and coleslaw. Thu Jan 29  Explore the Kissimmee River and Restoration Project. Enjoy an all day trip of natural beauty, wildlife, exploration and adventure on a pontoon boat, along with a presentation about Florida environmental history and water resource management.
