All International Teaching Assistants are required to successfully pass a Panel Review prior to beginning their teaching assignments. To pass the Panel Review, each International Teaching Assistant must give a Panel Presentation, consisting of a ten-minute lecture. Following are details about the Panel Presentation.

Prepare a 5 to 7 minute presentation on a topic that you expect to be teaching at FAU. Your presentation should consist of the following elements:

Introduce yourself

•  Name
•  Major
•  Teaching Expectations

Introduce your presentation topic

•  Explain the topic you will be presenting
•  Describe the audience for the topic (for example, if you were teaching this to a class, what would be the level and background of the students)

Content presentation (5 – 7 minutes)

•  Introduction
•  Body
•  Make sure to use visuals if appropriate
•  Make sure to ask questions where appropriate
•  Conclusion

Panel questions (2 – 3 minutes)

•  Respond to questions from the panelists
