Mr. Schiff was appointed Director of Purchasing and holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from FAU.
With an interest in public purchasing and information technology, Ed Schiff was originally recruited by FAU as a Senior Purchasing Agent and later advanced to Purchasing Coordinator, Assistant Director, Associate Director and ultimately, Director of Purchasing.
Mr. Schiff completed a three-year program with the College Business Management Institute and served on the Fiscal Systems Reporting Consortium Subcommittee for the development of a system-wide e-requisitioning platform. As a two time recipient of the FAU Owl Watch award, as well as the State of Florida/Davis Tax Watch award, Mr Schiff has brought several new programs to FAU, including the Purchasing VISA Card Program, ePayables, Office Products On-Line and the Virtual Showroom. As the Chief Contracting Officer for the university, he is responsible for the procurement of over $80,000,000 in goods and services each year.
In May 2007, Mr Schiff was elected Chairman of ICOP, the Inter-Institutional Committee on Purchasing, which is comprised of the Purchasing Directors and Associate Directors from all eleven State Universities in Florida.
