Summer Savings
IF YOU RECEIVE A REFUND FROM YOUR FINANCIAL AID DURING FALL/SPRING SEMESTERS, SAVE A PORTION OF IT FOR SUMMER ENROLLMENT.
Why do I need to save my financial aid money for summer?- The typical full-time student receives most, if not all, of his or her aid in the FALL and SPRING terms.
- There are annual limits to the amounts of financial aid, including loans, students can receive.
- Many students receive refunds in the FALL and SPRING after their tuition and fees have been paid.
How much do I need to save?
The Undergraduate Florida Resident Tuition breakdown is estimated at $200.00 per credit and the average student spends $150 to $300 on books for the summer (per the FAU Campus Bookstore). If you take 6 credits in the summer, you would need approximately $1500.00 for tuition and books plus your living expenses.
How does my BB&T Savings account help me save?
BB&T offers you a savings account where you can allocate a portion of your FAU fall and spring terms financial aid refunds, if applicable, to cover summer term tuition, fees, books and more.
