Course Notes for Fall 2012
Advising Notes
Prerequisites: If there is a course you are unable to register for because you lack a prereq, email the instructor to see if they can override the prereq.
Team-taught courses: Note that not all courses with an IDS prefix satisfy the Honors College team-taught (Critical Inquiry Seminar) requirement.
IDS courses that satisfy the team-taught/CIS requirement are indicated by a "team-taught" on the course schedule info sheet.
The course SPN 1121: Honors Beg Span Lang & Culture 2 has been added, taught by Dr. Carmen Cañete-Casada on TR 3:30-5:20.
ART 2500C Honors Painting I:
Any HC student may take this course – we will not enforce the prerequisites listed in Banner. To enroll, contact
Professor Dorotha Lemeh (dlemeh@fau.edu) or
David Flanigan (flanigan@fau.edu) to get permission to register.
ECO 2023 Honors Microeconomic Principles:
This course is open to all students including freshmen and has no prerequisites. If you have freshman standing and are blocked from registering, contact
Professor Keith Jakee (kjakee@fau.edu) or
David Flanigan (flanigan@fau.edu) to get permission to register.
CHM 1020C (Contemporary Chemical Issues) will be scheduled for Spring semester rather than Fall.
Other Notes
Wait List: The registrar will use an automatic wait list for most courses in the Honors College. If a student registers for a course that is full,
they can select a dropdown menu and click "Wait List" to be put on the wait list. Then they will be notified by email when a space opens. The student will have 36 hours to register
for the course upon receiving the email; if they do not register in that time, they lose their spot on the wait list, and the next person on the list will be notified by email that
they can register for the class within 36 hours. Students are therefore advised to check their fau email account at least once a day. Faculty still have the ability to permit a student
who absolutely needs a course to register for it without being put on a wait list.
Attending first class:
Students who do not attend the first class of the semester without prior approval of the instructor should expect to be dropped from that course.
