Florida Atlantic University’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and the Lifelong Learning Society will present a lecture by Edwin Black, author of IBM and the Holocaust, British Petroleum and the Redline Agreement, The Farhud, Nazi Nexus, The Plan, Internal Combustion, Banking on Baghdad, War Against the Weak, and The Transfer Agreement on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Society complex at FAU’s John D. Black’s presentation, “Petropolitics, Oil and the Middle East,” is based on his book, British Petroleum and the Redline Agreement, which includesthousands of archival documents, exclusive access to the corporate files of British Petroleum, the Turkish Petroleum Company, and the Anglo-Persian Oil Company and how it all pivoted on one man and one agreement. The story of the Redline Agreement is nothing less than the revelation of the West’s secret pact to obtain Mideast and the basis for the world’s involvement in the region.
Black is the award-winning, New York Times bestselling and international investigative author of 80 award-winning editions, as well as scores of newspaper and magazine articles in the leading publications of the United States, Europe and Israel. His writings have appeared in the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times,Chicago Tribune, Sunday Times of London, Frankfurter Zeitung and the Jerusalem Post.
