Our training program goal is to train the next generation of psychologists so that they can move toward competent independent practice. We have four overarching goals:

Goal 1:  

To promote the development of a professional identity as a psychologist that includes the integration of professional behavior, ethics, and diversity into clinical practice.

Goal 2:

To promote the development of advanced skills and competencies in the clinical practice of psychology.

Goal 3:

To promote the development of skills, knowledge base, and competencies in the role of a clinical supervisor.

Goal 4:
To promote the development of skills, knowledge-base, and competencies in the provision of community services such as outreach programming and consultation.


Interns are expected to develop competence in the following areas: individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, assessment, crisis intervention, outreach and consultation, diversity, ethics, and professional behavior.
