Quality Matters Program Logo

Would you like to receive national recognition for the quality of your online course? The Center for eLearning (CeL) wants to help you get it! We are proud to offer the nationally acclaimed Quality Matters (QM) program at FAU. This is your chance to earn the coveted QM quality seal and gain recognition for your hard work and quality results!

WHAT?

Quality Matters (QM) is a highly regarded program to encourage and recognize quality online course design. Courses are externally peer-reviewed based on the QM rubric.

Current QM recognized courses:

WHY?

We recognize and applaud all your hard work developing your online courses and we want to spotlight your success at the national level. Faculty members whose courses are recognized by QM will receive:

  • A stipend of $1,000 when QM nationally recognizes their course.
  • Recognition for the quality of their course design on both the QM and CeL websites.

The Center for eLearning will cover the QM review cost of $1,000 per course. The CeL's own course CEL 1001 was put through the QM process for continuing education courses and was proudly awarded QM recognition.

WHO?

Eligible faculty members will either have:

  • completed CEL1001 and taught the course developed at least one time, or
  • developed an online course and taught it a minimum of 3 times.

Proposals will be reviewed and priority given to:

  1. High demand courses with consistent enrollment demand over the last three years.
  2. Courses that are deemed strategic in planning eLearning degree programs.
  3. Courses that are part of an existing eLearning plan within your College/School/Department.
  4. Level of readiness for final submission.

HOW?

The CeL is offering an online QM orientation session intended to further explain the process and help you assess the readiness of your course for participation. For specific questions about this program, please contact idesign@fau.edu.

To be considered for this program, please complete the QM proposal form with all required signatures and submit it by Tuesday, March 19th at 5:00 pm. If you are unable to join us, please be on the lookout for a call for proposal in a future semester. Submissions will be accepted via fax (561.297.4851) or email (idesign@fau.edu).

The first two proposals from each college will be accepted for a maximum of 16 participants at any given time. If less than two proposals are received from any college, the remaining spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Proposals received after the initial 16 will be placed in a queue and processed as space becomes available. Faculty will be informed of the status of their proposals by Friday, March 29th at 5:00 pm with the program beginning on Monday, April 1st. If the proposal deadline has past, check back an upcoming semester for another opportunity to apply.

Courses selected for our 4-week QM program must be ready for final submission by Monday, April 29th at 5:00 pm.

Check out our current All-Stars and ask them about their experience!

Questions should be directed to idesign@fau.edu.
