Partnering with CCEW
Hours of Operation
By appointment only.
The Community Center for Excellence in Writing's mission is to collaborate with our clients so that they can become self-sufficient and independent writers who are capable of achieving their writing-related goals. We offer writing aid rather than an editing service, so that clients can come away from sessions with a fresh perspective on their work, as well as clear strategies for improving their writing. CCEW consultants help clients at any point in the writing process (i.e. brainstorming, drafting, revising), as well as with any area of writing (i.e. grammar, organization, formatting, argument, development). We help as long as clients choose so they can achieve their writing goals. Our consultants are committed to providing clients with a comfortable and safe learning environment.
FAU's Community Center for Excellence in Writing (CCEW) is affiliated with FAU's University Center for Excellence in Writing (UCEW) and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), which has recently been named the 2013 Frank L. Christ Outstanding Learning Center by the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA). For the past 12 years, the UCEW has offered writing consulting services to members of the FAU community, including students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars. Inspired by the successful model and philosophy of the UCEW, the CCEW was established in the fall of 2014 to support and promote academic, professional and creative writing for those outside of the FAU community. The CCEW's certified writing consultants have extensive teaching and tutoring experience at the college and graduate levels, as well as have formerly completed training with FAU's University Center of Excellence in Writing (UCEW). Workshop instructors include CCEW writing consultants, adjunct professors, and distinguished business professionals.
