The deadline for presenting has passed but feel free to take a look at the information below and start thinking about what you want to bring to the event next year!  The 2015 host school will be announced on Sunday April 6 at the Symposium in Boca Raton, FL.

Student Presenters

All student submissions should be accompanied by the contact information of their "Professional Sponsor."  In setting up our presenters for success we want to make sure students have a professional to refer to along the way and guide them in delivering a great session at EVOLVE.  Professional Sponsors do not need to co-present but may be contracted during the sessions selection process with additional resources to help mentor students along the way.  Sponsors are not limited to Campus Recreation professional staff but may also be graduate assistants or certified instructors with experience in the industry.

Juan Carlos Santana                                                                                              

Fitness maverick, founder of the Institute of Human Performance (IHP), dynamic speaker, sought-after counsultant, prolific author.  For over 30 years Juan Carlos "JC" Santana has been raising the bar in the fitness community. Jane Bahneman, MS janebahneman

Jane Bahneman, MS (ASCM-HFS, NASM & NSCA-CPT, ACE & AFAA-GFI, Yoga Alliance E-RYT, Spinning & Keiser certified) has been presenting in the fitness, recreation, and athletics industry for over a decade.  Jane is the Director of Fitness and Wellness Operations for Brailsford and Dunlavey/CENTERS LLC (Washington DC Central Offices) and co-founder of two successful businesses (Well Equipped, DC Metro area based consulting company and Blue Nectar Yoga Studio in Falls Church, Virginia).  Jane has served as the Assistant Director of Fitness at the University of Virginia and as an Associate Director of Campus Recreation/Director of Fitness at Georgetown University as well as has held roles in non-profit and commercial settings.  She has appeared on "The Balancing Act" talk show, writes for the IDEA Fitness Journal, and has served as the subject matter expert for both ACE and NASM.  She was the Keynote Speaker at the 2013 NIRSA Triventure and Jane has been ranked Top 10 among Athletic Business Conference Presenters for two years in a row.


Nick Tumminell o   nicktumminello

Nick Tumminello has become known as "the trainer of trainers."  He's the owner of Performance University International, which provides hybrid strength training & conditioning for athletes and educational programs for fitness professionals worldwide.  Nick has trained for professional and amateur figure and bodybuilding competitors as well as performance athletes, along with a wide variety exercise enthusiasts.  He is also the former strength & conditioning coach for team Ground Control MMA & Muay Thai, and is a fitness expert for Reebok.  Nick lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he trains a select group of individuals and teaches mentorships.  You can check out his DVDs, a seminar schedule and very popular hybrid training blog at perfamanceu.net

David Crump davidcrump

David Crump has been training in the Orlando area for about 6 years.  His fitness industry experience includes personally coaching over 250 clients, corporate management, facility design and consultation, as well as continuing education presentations for other fitness professionals.  He has been fortunate to train clients from all walks of life and with different levels of fitness.  David's passion for fitness and the fundamentals of program design have allowed him to develop a style that can work with anyone and extract a highest level of performance out of them.  He considers himself an enternal student and is truly dedicated to taking the fitness industry to the next level.

David is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science at the University of Central Florida.  He is a certified personal trainer through AFAA and NCSF, certified Hardstyle Kettlebell Instructor (HKC) through Dragon Door, certified suspension trainer (STC) through TRX, and a certified combat strength and conditioning coach through JC Santanta.

Susan Sotir, Ph.D. susansotir

Susan brings over 25 years of experience in sport, coaching and education to the Cybex Research Institute.  Prior to joining Cybex she taught courses in motor learning and skill acquisition, research methods, and statistics at Springfield College.  She was a coach with Minuteman Masters Swim Team, teaching and coaching adult athletes, from beginners seeking fitness to professional triathletes.  She and the Northeast Collegiate Draft Legal Triathlon Camp.  In addition, Susan has served as a consultant for elite athletes and coaches regarding the development and integration of mental skills into sport practice and performance.

Susan earned her Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Springfield College.  Her research there examined the psychological, physiological, and performance effects of psychological skill instruction and use.  She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) and has been a presenter on psychological factors influencing exercise performance and adherence at regional NSCA and NEHRSA events.

Josh Henkin joshhenkin

Strength Coach, Josh Henkin, has been a leader in the fitness and sports performance industry for the past 20 years.  Coach Henkin began to develop his innovative Dynamic Variable Resistance Training™ (DVRT) in 2005.  The success of Coach Henkin's DVRT and Ultimate Sandbag™ program has allowed him the opportunity to lecture and write extensively in the variable resistance and functional based training.

Coach Henkin is a best-selling author, writing three books, as well as having published over 100 articles.  His work has been seen in mainstream publications such as "Men's Health", "Experience Life Magazine", "SWAT Magazine", "SHAPE Magazine", Testosterone Magazine" and "The Crossfit Journal".

Teaching is one of Coach Henkin's greatest joys as he has been able to bring his DVRT program to over fifteen countries worldwide as well as being a speaker at several international conferences in 2009, Coach Henkin received the great honor of developing the program "SELECTED" which he was commissioned by the US Army Special Forces Recruiting Battalion to aid in their selection process.

Paul Christopher paulchristopher

Paul Christopher is a functional fitness professional and sports performance specialist based in Boca Raton, Florida.  He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2000 with a degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine (ATC), and has since become a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), as well as a Performance Enhancement Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-PES).

Combining his love of sport and fitness, Paul launched his brand & concept, Gravity + Oxygen, with intent on providing intelligent, top notch conditioning to athletes of all sports, most specifically with the top beach volleyball players in the nation.  He believes in following particular exercise science principles that cannot be ignored by an athlete, executed through artistic program design.

Dr. Scott Hoar ScottHoar

He uses a combination of Active Release technique, Graston® technique, chiropractic manual therapy as well as corrective exercises to improve mobility with his patients.  Dr. Hoar is certified in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) which provide the ability to address patients' dysfunctional movement patterns.  Dr. Hoar is the Medical Director of a prominent NFL combine prep camp and is trained by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)to assess and address golfers' issues as they look to continue and improve their performance.

Patients under Dr. Hoar's care experience freedom from pain, avoid surgery, and get back into the activities they love, lose weight and break personal performance records.

Kellen Milad kellenmilad

Kellen Milad is passionate about helping you move better.  Since graduating with a Master's in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he has worked in the fitness industry helping people create a personal definition based on their unique lives.  He has worked in the fitness industry helping people create a personal definition of fitness based on their unique lives.  He advocates a holistic approach to fitness - emphasizing body awareness, strength, mobility and play.  Kellen holds certifications from FMS, RKC, MovNat, and Precision Nutrition.  he specializes in kettlebell and natural movement-based training and is frequently found working on his handstands.

Brett Cook brettcook

Brett has a master's degree in physical education from the State University of New York at Brockport.  He is certified as a strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has worked as both a collegiate and professional strength and conditioning coach here in the states and internationally.  Mr. Cook is also certified as a level one weight lifting coach.  He is additionally certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a golf fitness specialist and worked for PGA national resort as a golf performance specialist for the past eight years and has published articles for PGA of America and Golf Fitness Magazine.  Mr. Cook is also certified as a first aid and CPR instructor by the American Red Cross.

Mr. Cook has over twenty years of teaching experience and has taught at colleges and universities in New York, Georgia, Florida, and the Bahamas.  Prior to teaching at Keiser University he worked as an assistant professor of exercise science at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Josh Gangaware  joshgangaway

Josh Gangaware is a South Florida based fitness and strength coach.  He has worked with clients of varying fitness levels and ages, from fitness novices to professional athletes.  Josh earned his Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education from Coastal Carolina University and continued his education with graduate studies in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning at Florida Atlantic University.  Josh is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  He is also a Certified Sports Nutrition Specialist through the American Academy of Sports Dietitians and Nutritionists.  Outside of training clients, Josh is also an avid powerlifter, looking to compete in his first meet.
