What is the Match-Up Challenge?

The Matchup is a team weight loss contest from February 15-May 10. Teams of 5 compete against other teams at the University and across the state to see who can lose the most weight as a team. This 3-month program is $60 per person to enter. Each member will have an initial weight-in at the Recreation & Fitness Center on February 15. Campus Recreation will provide complementary weigh-ins as well as discounted memberships to the Recreation & Fitness Center (Buy 3 months, get 3 months free).

Who is it for?

The challenge is for all FAU Employees to encourage each other to live a healthy lifestyle.

Potential Prizes:

A total of $18,000 to be divided amongst the Top 3 Teams in the state of Florida:

Each individual that keeps the weight off and/or reaches a healthy weight after 1-year receives $100 (if you started with an unhealthy BMI of 30% or more and have ended with at least 5% less than where you started).

Campus Recreation Programs and Incentives:

Don’t have a place to workout to reach these goals? Campus Recreation is offering 3 months free access for anyone interested in becoming a member in 2013 when they register for the Match Up. Please visit the Membership Services office for more information or to find out how to become a member of the Recreation and Fitness Center.

All registered participants will also receive $20 off of any Personal Training Package or Instructional Program registration.

Campus Recreation will be hosting weigh-ins throughout the competition as well as the initial weigh-in on February 15 at the following times: 7-8am, Noon-1pm, & 5-6pm.

How to Register:

• Grab 4 other coworkers to make your team of 5.
• Cost: Only $20 a month (or $60) per person to join the contest.
• Must register online: http://www.healthywage.com/clients/fau Last day to register is Thursday, February 14, 2013
  • Registration not available in person. All registrations must be completed online.
• Sign up in the Membership Services Office of at the Recreation & Fitness Center of the Boca Raton Campus for your three months free access with a membership
• Program Starts: Friday, February 15 with first initial weigh-in at the Recreation & Fitness Center
• Program Ends: Friday, May 10 with final weigh-in at the Recreation & Fitness Center
