Linda Johnson

Professor Linda Johnson is the Associate Vice President for the Broward Campuses of Florida Atlantic University. She joined FAU in 1997 as an Assistant Professor in the former College of Liberal Arts located on the Davie campus. Through the years she has taught and served FAU on the Davie, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton campuses. Her relationship and commitment to FAU Broward is long standing.

The mission of the FAU Broward Campuses is to serve students, faculty, staff and the surrounding communities providing support and access to excellence in instruction, scholarship, and research. Associate Vice President Johnson is responsible for supporting the colleges, students and campus partnerships, acknowledging their collaborative and distinctive contributions to the academic mission of the institution. She is committed to growing enrollment, increasing professional development opportunities and partnering with Broward communities to advance economic development through education.

She is excited about the future of the FAU Broward Campuses and champions the distinctive attributes of each campus. Sea Tech, home to The Institute for Ocean and Systems Engineering, located on the water in Dania Beach, provides an environment for advanced engineering research and technology development aimed at solving problems in the ocean. The downtown Fort Lauderdale campus, part of a progressive urban community, is advancing the creative and cultural economy with degree programs in Architecture, Graphic Design, and Multimedia Studies and partnerships with the Small Business Development Center. At Davie, FAU's second largest campus, upper-division undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to study and conduct research with experts in the arts and humanities, business, education, nursing, sciences and the social sciences. Also located on the Davie campus are the Center for Environmental Studies dedicated to advancing Florida's sustainability, the Teaching and Leadership Center, a collaborative initiative to attract, develop and retain qualified educators for Broward County's schools, and Florida Public Archaeology Network.

Prior to this appointment Professor Johnson served as the Associate Dean in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, Chair for the Department of Visual Arts and Art History and Graduate Coordinator for the M.F.A. in Graphic Design. She also currently serves as the Provost Fellow for the Summer and Intersession Enrollment Initiative.
