Fourth Annual Broward Student Research Symposium
This event features research activities of Broward graduate and undergraduate students and gives student researchers the opportunity to experience presenting research (planned or ongoing) or course projects. In addition to the awarding of prizes, the event provides a forum for student interaction with faculty and peers while showcasing their work. The event is part of the University’s Distinction through Discovery Quality Enhancement Plan.
Interested students must submit an electronic abstract between January 27 and February 26, 2014. Thesis and dissertation work, individual and group ongoing or planned research and course projects are all appropriate. Options for the day include poster, multimedia and 10-minute oral presentations.
Broward Undergraduate Research Award
Any undergraduate student at Florida Atlantic University taking classes in Davie or Fort Lauderdale and engaged in research or creative activity under the mentorship of a Broward-based faculty member may be nominated for an award of $2,000 to support their work. The research or creative activity conducted by the student generally takes the form of directed research, independent study, or work on a thesis under the direct supervision of a faculty member, rather than work conducted to fulfill regular course or seminar requirements.
