Marina P. Banchetti is Associate Professor of philosophy at Florida Atlantic University.  Her areas of research and scholarship include phenomenology, history and philosophy of science (particularly, chemistry), philosophy of language, and philosophy of mind.  She publishes widely in her field and has contributed numerous chapters to books in phenomenology and philosophy of chemistry. She has also published extensively, in journals such as Synthese,  Husserl Studies,  Foundations of Chemistry, Philosophy East & West,  Continental Philosophy Review, and The Review of Metaphysics,  and has co-edited two books: The Philosophies of Environment and Technology (1999) and Shifting the Geography of Reason: Science, Gender, and Religion (2006, 2008).

 

Associate Editors:

Lewis R. Gordon recently joined the Institute for African American Studies at the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining UConn, Professor Gordon taught at Purdue University, Brown University, and Temple University where he directed the Institute for the Study of Race and Social Thought and the Center for Afro-Jewish Studies.  Professor Gordon specializes in Africana philosophy, social and political theory, postcolonial phenomenology, philosophies of liberation, critical race theory, and the thought of W.E.B. DuBois and Frantz Fanon, among other areas. He has published countless articles in these fields, as well as numerous groundbreaking books that include Bad Faith and Antiblack Racism (1995, 1999), Fanon and the Crisis of European Man (1995), Her Majesty’s Other Children (1997), Existentia Africana (2000), and Disciplinary Decadence (2006).

Michael Monahan is Associate Professor of philosophy at Marquette University, where he teaches and conducts research in social and political philosophy, theoretical and applied ethics, studies of oppression and liberation (particularly, race and racism), Africana philosophy, and feminist philosophy. He has contributed chapters to several books in his field and has published numerous articles in such journals as Dialogue,  Philosophia Africana,  Social Theory and Practice,  Philosophy in the Contemporary World,  Sartre Studies International,  Philosophy and Social Criticism, and  The CLR James Journal. His book, The Creolizing Subject: Race, Reason, and the Politics of Purity, was published in 2011 by Fordham University Press.
