How do I get involved on campus?

Florida Atlantic offers more than 300 student organizations, with everything from intramural sports to music ensembles to fraternities and sororities!

All student organizations are listed on OwlCentral. Each semester, students have the opportunity to meet and sign up for organizations during Owl Involved, a club fair held the first week of the semester.  

Does Florida Atlantic have a gym on campus?
Yes! All students have access to our 10,000+ square-foot fitness center, plus an aquatic facility, outdoor adventure course, and multi-purpose gymnasium and activity courts – all located on our main Boca Raton campus. FAU Campus Recreation also offers a wide variety of intramural sports and group fitness classes, including Yoga, Zumba, Cycling, Kickboxing, and more. 

Students at the Wilkes Honors College in Jupiter can access all of Boca Raton’s recreation facilities, in addition to the facilities offered on the Jupiter campus. Through Jupiter Campus Rec, students can enjoy intramural sports, outdoor adventure trips, a fitness center, pool, and courts for tennis, basketball, and sand volleyball.
Can I bring a vehicle to campus?
Yes. Please note that students are required to register their vehicles via epermit with FAU Parking Services.
Does Florida Atlantic have fraternities and sororities?

Yes, Florida Atlantic offers a variety of fraternities and sororities, including the National Pan-Hellenic Council

How can I find a job as a student?
The Florida Atlantic Career Center offers a variety of career-coaching services, including resume development, interview preparation, and guidance on majors and career opportunities, including on-campus and off-campus jobs.
Can I study abroad?
Yes, Florida Atlantic students can earn academic credit while studying abroad. Whether you choose a short-term, faculty-led program or a semester-long experience, our Education Abroad programs allow you to travel the globe while working toward your degree.
Where can I learn more about campus safety?
The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. Along with the FAU Police Department, which works to keep our community safe, our campus safety resources include: 
  • Blue Light emergency systems across campus  
  • NightOwls, a student-run evening safety escort service for students who need a safe ride  
  • OwlReady, our safety app
